Chesterton Legacy looking to maintain their 100% record this season welcomed last seasons runners-up Village Cars to Manor Community College. The game was started with Village Cars showing alot more urgency than the sluggish Chesterton Legacy. Scott Jakes took a boot to the face early on which led to him being replaced by Prince Murandu which meant a reshuffle of personnel.

Village Cars put Chesterton under alot of pressure at the start and it finally took its toll with their player turning smartly in the area before crashing a shot off the underside of the bar to put them 1-0 up. Chesterton Legacy responded straight from kick off, a ball was played to Oli Brittain who flighted a "hollywood" ball for Carlos Griffin who beat the Village Cars defender to the ball before laying it across the goal for Marvin Beckett to power home. Village Cars were still putting Chesterton under pressure before they finally retook the lead.

After several fine saves from keeper Ricky Timms a shot which took a slight deflection off Andy Burns rolled into the net. The half ended with Chesterton 2-1 down. The second half started with Chesterton playing better than they did in the first half and the game turned into a bit of an end to end affair.

Carlos Griffin again was giving his opposition left back nightmares before Legacy equalised with a goal involving route one football. A big kick over the top was met by a flick on from Marvin Beckett and rolled into the path of Eddie Newman to equalise. Village Cars struck again with a strike to make it 3-2 before an unfortunate own goal from Terry Smith gave Village Cars a 4-2 lead.

Could this be the end of Chesterton long unbeaten run? The injured Shane Rackham was then replaced by Mark Thain who added a different dimension to the Legacy attack which meant again a reshuffle of personnel. With just 6 mins left Mark Thain made an impact, a ball was placed to Marvin Beckett in the area who put a cross in and was fouled which should of been a penalty, but the ref intelligently let play go on and the ball fell to the feet of Mark Thain who smashed the ball home to give Legacy hope.

A Village Cars player went off injured which left the visitors with 10 men but also meant several minutes of injury time would be played. Village Cars were now trying to hold the ball in the corner to eat up the last few minutes of the game but Legacy went all out attack for their last attack of the game and mustered an equaliser in injury time. The ball was played to Eddie Newman's chest in the area when he had his legs taken away. The referee didnt hesistate pointing to the spot and Eddie Newman sent the keeper the wrong way to salvage an unlikely point.

Chesteron Legacy with two players going off due to injury on top of missing four "first teamers" can be proud of how they battled back three times to gain a point against last years runners up. Chesterton may of not played well but no one can question their battling qualities. There are no easy games in this division but next week will see a massive test with a visit to top of the league Wilbraham.
