After a break the previous week due to the League Reps game, Legacy were back in action with a Centenary Cup fixture against Swaffham United. The only change to the side was a forced one with Carlos Griffin ill, Prince Murandu came in as a like for like swap on the wing.

Time and time again this season Legacy have struggled to come out of the blocks quickly in games. Once again this old habit loomed over Legacy and with sluggish closing down and lazy passing throughout, deservedly they were 4-0 down with not long left before half time. After the 4th goal went in there was a 5 minute spell of dominance for Legacy when they could easily have got themselves back in the game before half time. A solitary goal was pulled back, a Shane Rackham shot skidded along the surface only to be saved by the keeper, the rebound fell for Eddie Newman who poked the ball home.

Despite being 3 goals behind the end of the half showed the game was far from over, Legacy would be looking to start the half strongly and hopefully find a way to keep themselves in the Cup.

Scott Jakes who had started despite feeling under the weather, went off soon after half time after battling through illness for the first half. A shuffle of the pack was needed and Marc Thain came on in his place. For a few minutes after the substitution Legacy went with a 3-4-3 formation to try and chase the game. Another Swaffham goal to make it 5-1 soon after this forced Legacy to rearrange again and go back to 4-4-2. Marc Thain slotted in on the left, Ollie Brittain moved to centre back and Shane Rackham moved in centre midfield.

There aren't many highlights of note from the second half, after the 5th goal went in Legacy almost resigned themselves to defeat. While Swaffham scored a couple more goals Legacy managed to get a couple back. Marc Thain made a strong shout for a start with an assist for a Shane Rackham goal, then scoring a peach of a goal looping over the keeping after cutting in from the left hand side. Marvin Beckett also added to the tally after a goalmouth scramble from a Paul Evans corner. Credit must go to Ollie Brittain who filled in admirably at centre back despite being in an unfamiliar position.

Legacy have a good chance to get back to winning ways next week with a fixture at home to bottom of the league Waterbeach
